Our Recent Projects

Brain image genetics

Several methodological advancements in brain imaging genetics have been driven by initiatives such as the UK Biobank, the Neuroimaging Initiative, and the Alzheimer's Disease Sequencing Project. In this context, we explore key concepts, statistical and machine learning techniques, and cutting-edge applications. Additionally, we highlight how the vast availability of genomics data from multiple biobanks, along with advancements in biomedical computing and statistical methods, has fueled progress in this field.

Oyster Mushroom Cultivation

Oyster mushrooms are a popular type of mushroom commonly used in Indonesia. This study presents the development of a prototype temperature and humidity management system for oyster mushroom farming, based on a fuzzy logic controller. The system is powered by an Arduino microcontroller, which utilizes the fuzzy logic controller to determine the optimal temperature and humidity setpoints. The response time to achieve the desired setpoints ranges from 1 minute 27 seconds to 8 minutes 10 seconds.

Mangifera indica Classification

Agriculture plays a crucial role in the Philippines, where mango production ranks 7th globally. This project aims to develop an electronic nose capable of distinguishing between ripe and unripe *Mangifera Indica* (mangoes). Using a Fuzzy Logic Algorithm, the system determines the ripeness of the mangoes. Unripe mangoes were identified with an accuracy of 93.33%, while ripe mangoes were identified with 86.67%, resulting in an overall system accuracy of 90%.

Na3NiZr(PO4)3 Electrode investigation

The use of Na₃NiZr(PO₄)₃, a superionic conductor, as an anode material for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) was investigated. The structural and electrochemical properties of this phosphate were analyzed using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and electrochemical testing. In a sodium half-cell, Na₃NiZr(PO₄)₃/C delivered an initial discharge capacity of 140 mAh/g at a current density of 25 mA/g. Notably, the material demonstrated excellent capacity retention, even at high current densities ranging from 25 to 500 mA/g.

Ion Angle Deviation

Outgassing is a common issue, especially when using photoresist masks during high-energy ion implantation. Two primary factors affect the ion beam during outgassing. The first is charge exchange, which occurs when ions interact with outgassing molecules or atoms. The second factor is ion scattering caused by nuclei in the outgassed molecules or atoms. After evaluating the impact of this scattering, it was found that the ion beam’s scattering angle is significantly smaller than the critical angle for channeling in the Si ⟨100⟩ direction.

Applications of Computer Science

Graphic design is the fusion of technology and art. As society and technology have progressed, computer graphic design software has become an integral part of various graphic design practices. This article begins by exploring the concept of computer graphic design software, followed by an overview of the current state of graphic design. It then examines the role and application of computer graphic design software in modern graphic design, highlighting its influence on the field.

Study on Water Balance

Daihai Lake is the third-largest lake in Mongolia. In light of the ongoing decline in water levels, this paper investigates the interannual water level changes of the lake from 1960 to 2019. Utilizing a water balance model, the study calculates the average multi-year water deficit by analyzing inflows and outflows from 2010 to 2019. The findings provide a scientifically grounded theoretical foundation for the sustainable development of Daihai Lake.

Terrorist Attacks Analysis

Terrorism poses a significant threat globally. This paper leverages the Global Terrorism Database (GTD) and utilizes big data to optimize GTD-related data on terrorist attacks through mathematical methods, including hierarchical clustering, fuzzy clustering, and regression analysis. The study calculates and sorts the relevant values, determining the similarity coefficient and the degree of suspicion regarding terrorists and specific events. This approach effectively enhances the prediction of counter-terrorism efforts.
